Pensão Portuense is located in the historic area of Lisbon, the Baixa Pombalina, in Rua das Portas de Santo Antão.
The road is replenished with a heavy mix of restaurants. One may indulge in a variety of seafood, meat or even chicken dishes accompanied by some of the best Port wines. Why not also try the famous Ginjinha? Follow the trail of this important street and you may find yourself watching a famous play at the Coliseu dos Recreios or at the Politeama Theatre. You may also encounter a French Community Chapel (Igreja São Luís dos franceses).
For a journey back in time, behind Pensão Portuense, one can find the old prison of Tronco where Luís de Camões, in 1552, was jailed for having been involved in a fight. If you look carefully you may be able to find some traces of this event.
The pensão is inside a 5 storey building with an elevator which gives direct access to its 35 rooms. The rooms, from single to triple, have all private bathrooms, air conditioning, heating, TV and telephone.
We are known for having a pleasant family and cozy environment.
As the building's exterior is nearly refurbished, we are currently renewing the interior. We will be closed from January until the end of March and will re-open in the beginning of April after having concluded all renovations.
