The easiest and most secure way to install mycitymate on your mobile device is by connecting to mycitymate.mobi/go from your mobile browser. It is also available for download and install through your device's desktop connection software. Please visit mycitymate.com/downloads.do for more information. What models of phone currently work with mycitymate? | Back to the top
For the beta version of mycitymate we are supporting the vast majority of newer Java enabled handsets. If you bought your mobile phone after January 2008 chances are high that mycitymate will work on your device, or even on some older ones. We also support Blackberry and some Windows Mobile devices. Just try.
Troubleshooting:
The transfer of the file just stops. What's wrong? | Back to the top
There could be various reasons why this is the case. One of the main reasons is that there is not enough free memory on your mobile phone. Please make sure that the space is sufficient before you install the application. Also if you are re-installing mycitymate make sure to quit any previous version before re-installing.
I cannot establish a Bluetooth connection | Back to the top
On your mobile phone, make sure to turn on Bluetooth and activate "discovery". This will allow your computer to connect to the mobile. It may ask you for a passkey - choose a 4 digit number and enter it on the computer as well as the mobile when prompted.
The installation seems to be taking very long - is this right? | Back to the top
Depending on the size of the jar (Java application file) and the device you use, mycitymate may take a few minutes to install. Please be patient.
During the installation it says that the file is from an "untrusted source". Is this a problem? | Back to the top
"Sideloading" (transferring the jar from your computer) an application bypasses the usual java security procedures, so this warning is unavoidable. You can just confirm the installation by clicking "Yes" and proceed. If you prefer to download a copy with a security certificate, please download the application by visiting mycitymate.mobi/go with your mobile browser.
