Basically we try to collect only necessary information and only from users who voluntarily register at our website. mycitymate collects two types of information about users: personal information (such as name and e-mail address) and aggregate information (such as information about how many users log on to our sites on a daily basis).

- Allowing to share experiences with fellow travellers on our forum

We respect your privacy and we do not share or sell your individual data to any third party provider. Also, other users of our service will not have access to your data.
We may share aggregate data of our users for promotional and advertising purposes. Within mycitymate and our affiliate companies we may also share individual information for internal purposes. In most cases we will give you more information why we ask for personal details when we ask you to provide the information. If legal or health and safety issues arise we may also have to make disclosures to relevant organisations to deal with these matters.
By giving us personal information through the mycitymate website or communicating with us, you acknowledge and agree to our use of your data on a global basis, but if you have any concerns about this please let us know.
Our site contains links to websites other than our own. Links could be to advertisers, travel agencies, airlines, or business partners of mycitymate. These sites are not related to mycitymate and may not follow the same privacy policy as mycitymate.
What information do you share with other users?

How much information is shared depends on you and the services you use. In general very little personal information is exposed. If you write reviews or comments other users will see your name. You can decide which of your personal infomration is shown on your profile page by editing your profile options. Nevetheless, we recommend though that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information since it might be available to the public.

The best thing about our community - you and all our mates - is that we all share our views, experiences and recommendations with each other. We really appreciate this and hope that you enjoy reading this as much as we do. Keep in mind, though, that users who add content are required to follow acceptable standards of behaviour when posting messages online. To make sure nobody is offended we reserve the right to, but are not obligated to, refuse or delete any content that in our sole discretion is considered inappropriate.

mycitymate uses 'cookies' to record information. A cookie is a small data file that web sites store on your hard drive when you visit them. When you ask mycitymate to "remember me" we store a cookie which has an encrypted version of your mycitymate user id, which we use to fill in the login box for subsequent visits.
Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you may set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you choose to disable cookies, or are behind a restrictive company firewall, you may still use the site but will be unable to use the "rememer me" feature. We do not use cookies to retrieve any information from your computer or to monitor your internet usage outside of mycitymate.
